As supervising librarian and for the City of Hayward, I created high-quality, city-operated Homework Tutoring Centers in thirteen public school locations in partnership with a local school district. A few years later, under my oversight as Hayward’s library and community services director, the homework centers provided a key component for a $25 million Promise Neighborhood grant award from the U.S. Dept. of Education.
