Sean S. Reinhart has 25 years of experience in local government, including 15 years in executive roles serving the cities of Hayward and Menlo Park. He spent his professional career working to improve people’s lives through civil service.

Professional background

Some highlights from his resume include:

  • Executive experience. Leads a multi-disciplinary team of 150+ management, professional and support staff who serve the community at childcare centers, senior centers, recreation centers, aquatics centers, and public libraries.
  • Budget management. Develops, analyzes, monitors, presents and implements a $19.4 million annual operating budget across multiple operating divisions and revenue sources.
  • Fundraising and grants. Secured $2.5 million in grant awards to support early childhood education, public facility capital improvements, community programs and other initiatives; and $600,000 in private donations toward furnishings and equipment in a new multi-service community center.
  • Delivering solutions through community-based organizations, including housing rehabilitation for older adults and people with disabilities, paratransit services, housing assistance, and performance-based grants to local nonprofits.
  • Organizational development. Restructured two formerly separate municipal operating departments into a single synergistic department, achieving cost savings, efficiencies, and enhanced customer service.
  • Public-private project management. Served as client manager to design, develop, build, and operate a major new multi-service center in an underserved neighborhood through a public-private partnership with Meta Platforms, Inc. (formerly Facebook).
